The Benefits of Curation.

by Nick Usborne on March 17, 2011

Here is a great video about the power of becoming a curator of information online.

There is an opportunity here for you. Whatever your niche, you can become the top curator of information. Or, if that sounds too ambitious, one of the top five curators.

As Robert Scoble says, there are a variety of tools you can use with which to gather together your curated content.

Like Paper.li, or Scoop.it, or Curated.by, or Skygrid.com – to name but a few.

Do this well, and you can build yourself quite an audience, and then direct them to your own website.

Beyond that, by becoming a top curator for your audience, you will find yourself at the leading edge when it comes to the sharing of timely content, and commentary on what is new and important.

In other words, the act of being a curator is a learning experience, and makes you a true authority in your field.

As a result, the quality of your site’s content will rise, your reputation will increase, and you’ll get a ton more traffic.

I would strongly urge you take on the role of curator, whatever your topic or business is. The end benefits are enormous.
